Co-opted members of overview and scrutiny committees
76Guidance and directions about co-option

A local authority must, in exercising or deciding whether to exercise a co-option function—
a
have regard to guidance given by the Welsh Ministers, and
b
comply with directions given by the Welsh Ministers.

In this section “co-option function” means a function of a local authority that relates to co-opted members of—
a
overview and scrutiny committees, or
b
sub-committees of such committees.

That includes (but is not limited to) a function that relates to appointment of such co-opted members.
