The Cremation (Scotland) Regulations 2019

Coming into force

The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 47(1), 48(2) and (4), 56(1) and (2), 57(1) and (2) and 106(1)(a) of the Burial and Cremation (Scotland) Act 20161 and section 27A(2) and (6)(a) of the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Scotland) Act 19652 and all other powers enabling them to do so.

In accordance with section 104(4) of the Burial and Cremation (Scotland) Act 2016 they have consulted cremation authorities and such other persons as they consider appropriate.

In accordance with section 106(2) of that Act a draft of this instrument has been laid before and approved by resolution of the Scottish Parliament3.
