The National Assembly for Wales (Representation of the People) (Amendment) Order 2016

Made

Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2)

In accordance with section 7(1) and (2)(f) of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 20001, the Secretary of State has consulted with the Electoral Commission prior to this Order being made.

And, in accordance with section 8(2) and (3)(b) of that Act2, the Secretary of State has acted on the recommendation of the Electoral Commission in limiting the expenses of candidates under section 13(2)(c) of the Government of Wales Act (“the 2006 Act”)3.

In accordance with section 13(7) of the 2006 Act a draft of this Order has been laid before and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.

Accordingly the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 13(1), (2) and (4) and 157(2)(c) of the 2006 Act (as extended by section 26(3) of the Welsh Language Act 19934), makes the following Order:
