The Aircraft and Shipbuilding Industries Act 1977 is amended as follows.

In section 6 (machinery for settling terms and conditions of employment), in subsection (2)(b) (resolution of trade disputes) for “within the meaning of the Employment Protection Act 1975" substitute “
within the meaning of Part IV of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992
”
.

In section 56(1) (interpretation), in the definition of “relevant trade union"—
a
for “as defined in section 30(1) of the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act 1974" substitute “
within the meaning of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992
”
, and
b
for “as defined by section 126(1) of the Employment Protection Act 1975" substitute “
within the meaning of that Act
”
