20 Rules E+W

(1) In sections 10, 17, 18 and 19 “rules” means rules made by the [F1 Lord Chief Justice] .

(2) Before making any rules for the purposes of section 10, 17, 18 or 19 the [F2 Lord Chief Justice] must consult—

(a) the Criminal Procedure Rule Committee,[F4 and]

(b) the Family Procedure Rule Committee, F5 ...

[F6 (3) The Lord Chief Justice may nominate a judicial office holder (as defined in section 109(4) of the Constitutional Reform Act 2005) to exercise his functions of making the rules referred to in this section.]
