Section 202(1) (general provisions as to interpretation) is amended as follows.

Before the definition of “citizen of the Union” insert—
“anonymous entry”, in relation to a register of electors, shall be construed in accordance with section 9B above and “the record of anonymous entries”, means the record prepared in pursuance of regulations made by virtue of paragraph 8A of Schedule 2 to this Act;

In the definition of “elector”—
a
for “whose name is for the time being” substitute “
who has for the time being an entry
”
, and
b
after “shown in the register” insert “
(or, in the case of a person who has an anonymous entry in the register, in the record of anonymous entries)
”
.
