Forged Transfers Act 1891 (c. 43) E+W+S

19 (1) Section 3 of the Forged Transfers Act 1891 (application to industrial societies etc) is amended as follows. E+W+S

(2) In the existing provision (which becomes subsection (1))—

(a) omit “industrial, provident,”;

(b) after “Parliament” insert “ , and to any registered society, ”.

(3) After that subsection insert—

“(2) Registered society” means—

(a) a registered society within the meaning of the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, or

(b) a society registered or deemed to be registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act (Northern Ireland) 1969.”
