Visiors' driving permits2

In Article 2 (visitors' driving permits) of the Motor Vehicles (International Circulation) Order 19752

a

in paragraph (1) afetr the words “a motor vehicle of any class” there shall be inserted the words “other than a large goods vehicle or a passenger-carrying vehicle”;

b

in paragraph (2) for the words “public service vehicle or heavy goods vehicle”, in each place where they occur, there shall be submitted the words “large goods vehicle or passenger-carrying vehicle” and for the words “either of such a licence as is required by section 22 of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 19813, or of such a licence as is required by section 110 of the said Act of 19884” there shall be substituted the words “of a large goods vehicle driver’s licence or a passenger-carrying vehicle driver’s licence”;

in paragraph (3)(a) and (b) for the words “public service vehicle”, in each place where they occur, there shall be substituted the words “passenger-carrying vehicle” and for the words “such a licence as is required by section 22 of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981” there shall be substituted the words “a passenger-carrying vehicle driver’s licence”; and

d

in paragraph (7) after the definition of “public service vehicle” there shall be inserted the following definition:—

and “large goods vehicle”, “passenger-carrying vehicle”, “large goods vehicle driver’s licence” and “passenger-carrying vehicle driver’s licence” have the same meaning as in Part IV of the Road Traffic Act 1988
