Regulation 2 of the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) Regulations 199294 (interpretation) is amended as follows.

In paragraph (1) in the definition of “statutory undertaker”—
a
for the words “the Post Office” are substituted the words “a universal postal service provider in connection with the provision of a universal postal service”; and
b
after the word “and”, where it appears for the second time, are inserted the words “, subject to paragraph (1A),”.

After paragraph (1) is inserted—

The undertaking of a universal postal service provider so far as relating to the provision of a universal postal service shall be taken to be his statutory undertaking for the purposes of these regulations; and references in these regulations to his undertaking shall be construed accordingly.
