Expenses of constituency candidate

42. For the purpose of this Part of this Order, sums paid or expenses incurred by, or in respect of, a candidate at a constituency election in respect of whom the constituency returning officer has received a certificate issued by the registered nominating officer of a registered political party under rule 5(1) or, as the case may be, (3) of Schedule 5, are not to be regarded as having been paid or incurred by that party(1).

In relation to party list candidates, their expenses are generally treated as expenditure by the registered political party on whose list they appear and is regulated by Part 5 of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000.
