27.—(1) Where the poll at an election of county or county borough councillors is taken together with the poll at an Assembly election under article 16(1) or (2), Schedule 3 to the Local Elections (Principal Areas)(England and Wales) Rules 2006(1) (rules for conduct of an election of councillors of a principal area) shall have effect subject to the modifications set out in the remaining paragraphs of this Part.
(2) In this Part the rules in that Schedule referred to in sub-paragraph (1) are referred to as the principal area election rules.
