This Order supplements the existing statutory powers that Transport for London and Docklands Light Railway Limited have to operate the London Cable Car between the Greenwich peninsula and the Royal Victoria Dock and ensures that the Cable Car system integrates effectively and consistently with the rest of Transport for London’s network. The Order confers statutory authority for the Cable Car, makes provision in connection with the operation of the system, applies (with modifications) provisions in the Greater London Authority Act 1999 relating to public transport in London, and gives effect to byelaws which regulate travel on the Cable Car.
Citation and commencement1
This Order may be cited as the London Cable Car Order 2012 and comes into force on 13th March 2012.
