Coming into force

A draft of these Regulations was laid before Parliament in accordance with section 51(5) of the National Minimum Wage Act 19981 and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.

These Regulations are made by the Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1(3) and (4), 2, 3, 9 and 51(1)(b) of the National Minimum Wage Act 19982. Section 9 of that Act is extended by section 5 of the Agricultural Sector (Wales) Act 20143, section 3A(1) of the Agricultural Wages (Scotland) Act 19494 and Article 8A(1) of the Agricultural Wages (Regulation) (Northern Ireland) Order 19775.
