In these Regulations—

• “the Asbestos Directive” means Council Directive 87/217/EEC on the prevention and reduction of environmental pollution by asbestos M1F10, as read in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 1A;

• F2“the Basic Safety Standards Directive” means Council Directive 2013/59/Euratom laying down basic safety standards for the protection against the dangers arising from exposure to ionising radiationF11, as read in accordance with paragraph 2 of Schedule 1A;

• “the Batteries Directive” means Directive 2006/66/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators M2F5, as last amended by Directive (EU) 2018/849F12, as read in accordance with paragraph 3 of Schedule 1A;

• “the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive” means Directive 2000/53/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on end-of-life vehicles M3F6, as last amended by Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2020/363F13, as read in accordance with paragraph 4 of Schedule 1A;

• “the Energy Efficiency Directive” means Directive 2012/27/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on energy efficiency M4F14, as read in accordance with paragraph 5 of Schedule 1A;

• “the Industrial Emissions Directive” means Directive 2010/75/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on industrial emissions (integrated pollution prevention and control) M5F16, as read in accordance with paragraph 6 of Schedule 1A;

• “the Landfill Directive” means Council Directive 1999/31/EC on the landfill of waste M6F7, as last amended by Directive (EU) 2018/850, as read with Council Decision 2003/33/EC establishing criteria and procedures for the acceptance of waste at landfills pursuant to Article 16 of, and Annex II to, Directive 1999/31/ECM7F17, and in accordance with paragraph 7 of Schedule 1A;

• F1“the Medium Combustion Plant Directive” means Directive 2015/2193/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the limitation of emissions of certain pollutants into the air from medium combustion plantsF18, as read in accordance with paragraph 8 of Schedule 1A;

• “the Mining Waste Directive” means Directive 2006/21/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the management of waste from extractive industries M8F19, as read in accordance with paragraph 9 of Schedule 1A;

• “PVR I” means European Parliament and Council Directive 94/63/EC on the control of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions resulting from the storage of petrol and its distribution from terminals to service stations M9F20, as read in accordance with paragraph 10 of Schedule 1A;

• “PVR II” means Directive 2009/126/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on Stage II petrol vapour recovery during refuelling of motor vehicles at service stations M10F21, as read in accordance with paragraph 11 of Schedule 1A;

• “the Waste Framework Directive” means Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on waste F4, as last amended by F8Directive (EU) 2018/851F22, and as read in accordance with paragraph 12 of Schedule 1A;

• “the Water Framework Directive” means Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy M11F23, as read in accordance with paragraph 13 of Schedule 1A;

• “the WEEE Directive” means Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) M12F9, as last amended by Directive (EU) 2018/849F24 , as read in accordance with paragraph 14 of Schedule 1A.
