Coming into force
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19721, sections 8 and 9 of the Electronic Communications Act 20002 and section 105 of the Deregulation Act 20153.
The Secretary of State has been designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the 1972 Act in relation to the environment4.
The Secretary of State considers that the authorisation of the use of electronic communications by paragraph 7 of Schedule 1 to these Regulations is such that the extent (if any) to which records of things done for the purpose will be available will be no less satisfactory where use is made of electronic communications than in other cases.
