SCHEDULE 4 RESTRICTIONS ON THE LANDING AND MOVEMENT IN GREAT BRITAIN OF RELEVANT MATERIAL

PART A RELEVANT MATERIAL, CONSIGNED DIRECTLY FROM THIRD COUNTRIES, WHOSE LANDING IN GREAT BRITAIN IS SUBJECT TO SPECIAL CONDITIONS

2. 23. 24. 25.	Wood of Castanea Mill., and Quercus L., including wood which has not kept its natural round surface, originating in North American countries	Without prejudice to article 3(1), Part A of Schedule 2 and Schedule 3, the wood shall be stripped of its bark, and shall be: (a) squared so as to remove entirely the rounded surface; or (b) accompanied by an official statement that the moisturecontent of the wood does not exceed 20% expressed as a percentage of dry matter; or (c) accompanied by an official statement that the wood has been disinfected by an appropriate hot-air or hot-water treatment; or, in the case of sawn wood with or without residual bark attached, there shall be evidence by a mark “Kiln-dried”, “K.D.” or another internationally recognised mark, put on the wood or on its packaging in accordance with current commercial usage, that it has undergone kiln-drying to below 20% moisture content, expressed as a percentage of dry matter, at time of manufacture, achieved through an appropriate time/temperature schedule	Phytosanitary certificate

38. 39.
