The Education (Grammar School Ballots) Regulations 1998

1.—(1) The Education (Grammar School Ballots) Regulations 1998(1) are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 2(1) (interpretation), in the definition of “registered”, for “the Education (Pupil Registration) Regulations 1995”, substitute “the School Attendance (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2024”.

(3) In regulation 4(7)(a) (meaning of “eligible parent”), for “the Education (Pupil Registration) Regulations 1995”, substitute “the School Attendance (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2024”.

The School Information (England) Regulations 2008

2.—(1) The School Information (England) Regulations 2008(2) are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 2(1) (interpretation)—

(a)in the definition of “admission register”, for the words after “in accordance with”, substitute regulation 5(1) of the School Attendance (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2024”;

(b)in the definition of “registered parent”, for the words after “in accordance with”, substitute regulation 8(2)(e) of the School Attendance (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2024”.

The Education (Information About Individual Pupils) (England) Regulations 2013

3.—(1) The Education (Information About Individual Pupils) (England) Regulations 2013(3) are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 2 (interpretation)—

(a)for the definition of “the 2006 Regulations”, substitute—

the 2024 Regulations” means the School Attendance (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2024;;

(b)in the definition of “register”, for “the 2006 Regulations”, substitute “the 2024 Regulations”.

(3) In Schedule 1—

(a)for paragraph 16(b), substitute—

(b)the number of times each of the codes specified in regulation 10 of the 2024 Regulations is recorded against the pupil’s name in the school’s attendance register in relation to such periods.;

(b)delete paragraph 17;

(c)for paragraph 30(2), substitute—

(2) The number of times each of the codes specified in regulation 10 of the 2024 Regulations is recorded against the pupil’s name in the school’s attendance register in relation to such periods.;

(d)delete paragraph 31.

The Education (Independent School Standards) Regulations 2014

4.—(1) The Education (Independent School Standards) Regulations 2014(4) are amended as follows.

(2) In the Schedule, in paragraph 15 (maintenance of registers), for “the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006”, substitute “the School Attendance (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2024”.

The Special Educational Needs and Disability (Detained Persons) Regulations 2015

5.—(1) The Special Educational Needs and Disability (Detained Persons) Regulations 2015(5) are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 4(2)(g) (determination whether or not special educational provision may be necessary), for “regulation 8(1)(i) of the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006”, substitute regulation 9(1)(j) of the School Attendance (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2024”.
