2.—(1) Regulation 2 (interpretation) is amended as follows.
(2) In paragraph (1)(a) at the end insert “(as it had effect immediately before exit day)”;
(3) In paragraph (2)—
(a)after the definition of “applicable” insert—
““approved body” has the meaning given to it in regulation 16A;”;
(b)for the definition of “authorised representative” substitute—
““authorised representative” means a person who—
a person who—
immediately before exit day was established in the United Kingdom or an EEA state and had received a written mandate from the manufacturer, to perform on the manufacturer’s behalf, all or part of the obligations and formalities imposed on manufacturers (either as “manufacturers” or “responsible persons”) by these Regulations (as they had effect immediately before exit day); and
on or after exit day continues to be so established and appointed by the manufacturer to perform those tasks; or
a person who on or after exit day—
is established in the United Kingdom; and
receives a written mandate from the manufacturer, to perform on the manufacturer’s behalf, all or part of the obligations and formalities imposed on manufacturers (either as “manufacturers” or “responsible persons”) by these Regulations;”;
(c)omit the definition of “CE marking”;
(d)omit the definition of “Commission”;
(e)after the definition of “conformity assessment” insert—
““designated standard” has the meaning given to it in regulation 2A;”;
(f)omit the definition of “harmonised standard”;
(g)in the definition of “manufacturer” for “an EEA state” substitute “the United Kingdom”;
(h)omit the definition of—
(i)“notified body”;
(ii)“notified body criteria”;
(iii)“notified body designation”;
(iv)“official Community language”;
(v)“published harmonised standard”;
(i)after the definition of “safety component” insert—
““UK marking” means the marking in the form published in accordance with Article 30(1) of Regulation (EC) No 765/2008 setting out the requirements for accreditation and market surveillance relating to the marketing of products and repealing Regulation (EEC) No 339/93;”;
