For the purposes of this Annex:—
“The agreed date” means
“Colony”, “protectorate”, “protected State” and “United Kingdom trust territory”
“The date of this Treaty” means
A person born before the agreed date aboard a registered ship or aircraft or aboard an unregistered ship or aircraft of the Government of any country shall be regarded as having been born in the place in which the ship or aircraft was registered, or, as the case may be, in that country;
It is understood that a person shall not be regarded as having ceased to be ordinarily resident in a country if it can be shown to the satisfaction of the authorities concerned that his absence from that country was temporary and for the purpose of receiving medical treatment or education.
Under Article 12 of the Treaty, it entered into force on 16th August, 1960, on signature by all the parties to it.
