The Transport Act 2000 (Commencement No. 8 and Transitional Provisions) (Amendment) Order 2002

The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 275(1) of the Transport Act 2000(1) hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Transport Act 2000 (Commencement No. 8 and Transitional Provisions) (Amendment) Order 2002.

Amendment of the Transport Act 2000 (Commencement No. 8 and Transitional Provisions) Order 2002.

2.—(1) Part 2 of the Schedule to the Transport Act 2000 (Commencement No. 8 and Transitional Provisions) Order 2002(2) is amended as provided in paragraph (2) below.

(2) For the entry relating to section 274 there is substituted—

  • Section 274, in so far as it relates to the entries in Part V of Schedule 31 relating to sections 130 and 131(5) of, and Schedule 3 to, the Road Traffic Act 1988.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Transport Act 2000 (Commencement No. 8 and Transitional Provisions) Order 2002 by substituting, for references to the repeal of certain provisions of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and the Road Traffic (Driver Licensing and Information Systems) Act 1989, references to the repeal of provisions in sections 130 (revocation of trainee instructor’s licences) and 131(5) (appeals against decisions of the Registrar of Approved Driving Instructors) of the Road Traffic Act 1988. Those repeals are brought into force on 1st April 2002.
